Stellaluna

Stellaluna is a bat. She got lost in the woods. Stellaluna hangs onto a tree branch for a long time and in the morning she can't hang on any longer. She drops into a nest. She meets three birds, Pip, Flitter, and Flap. Stellaluna learns to be like a bird and eats bugs and has to sleep in a nest. She begins to think she is a bird until she sees her real mom. They recognize each other and Stellaluna never has to eat a big gushy bug again in her life as long as she lives.

I liked this story because it was funny when Stellaluna thought she was a bird and began to act like one. I also like it because we just studied bats for two week and learned a lot of what was in the story. Like bats are mammals and would never really sleep in a birds nest. I think a lot of people who read this story would learn not to be afraid of bats.

I think everyone who is in second grade or older can read this really great story. If you are younger have mom or dad read this really cool story to you and you can learn about bats too.
