This story is about Carly Beth and a mask for Halloween. One Halloween, Carly Beth didn?t want to be something pleasant. She wanted to be something frightening so she could scare the people who scared her and picked on her. So Carly went to this mask store which she has never seen before. Then she went into the back where she saw a mask that was scary. It felt like real skin! The man said ?You can?t buy those?. But Carly did anyway. This mask was not an ordinary mask. It was a mask that made you mean. You actually become one of the creatures of the mask.

After Carly went out and scared everybody, she noticed that her voice changed. However, Carly didn?t do anything about it. Carly went home and she might have gotten the mask off or maybe she didn?t get it off. Well you?ll have to read to find out what happens.

One big idea in this story is that the mask is very powerful and controls you and changes you. I think this book is a decent book because it puts you on the edge of your seat. My favorite part was when Carly Beth showed the boys a sculptured head of her and then it started talking.

There was a character that changed and that was Carly Beth because she used to be a pleasant girl then she turned into a mean person.

I would recommend this book because it?s an apt book for people who like mysteries. There?s a series of Goosebumps books by the same author if you like scary books. The character in this story is Carly Beth. This book takes place outside of Carly Beth?s house and on the streets. Read the Haunted Mask and you will enjoy it and you will want to read it over and over again.
