Is one of your parents gone? Well in the book, Becoming Naomi Leon, Naomi (the main character) parents are gone. Now in the book Naomi lives with her great grandma, not her grandma, but her great. I don't know where her mom is, but I know where her dad is. Her dad is in Mexico. Do you want to know why her parents are gone? Well, a long time ago when Naomi was a little kid, Naomi's parents used to get in a lot of fights. Then one day, her dad went on a boat and when he came back, Naomi wasn't there anymore. She only has one brother and they both go to school. The brother's name is Owen. Then out of nowhere, Naomi's Mom comes back. If you want to know what happens, you should keep reading. The book is named Becoming Naomi Leon by Pam Munoz Ryan.

I like this book! It was a very good book when I read it. It was a very good book because it was how two kids, and a great grandma go to find their dad. My favorite character was Naomi because she is negative in the beginning of the book, then after a while she becomes positive. My favorite part is a surprise. Think about it when you read the book. I'll give you a hint: I like the part when Naomi chases somebody because it makes me feel happy. If you keep on reading, you will find out what happens. This book reminds of a book called Journey because in the book Journey, Journey lives with her great grandparents and their parents are gone.

I would like to recommend this book to kids ages 10 and up because some parts are inappropriate for little kids. Have a good time reading Becoming Naomi Leon!
