The Trumpet of the Swan

Have you ever heard of a swan that goes to school to read and write and also plays the trumpet? Well, in this book you will. This book is about a bird-loving, shy boy named Sam. Sam goes to a pond and finds a mother swam giving birth to a baby swan. Then next week Sam watches the swans but the week after or so he does not see them. Meanwhile, the swans had flown south for the winter. As time goes on, Louis (the baby swan) spies a beautiful swan named Serena. Louis instantly falls in love. There is only one problem. Louis dose not know how to talk! So Louis leaves his family and goes to school to learn how to read and write. When Louis gets home he feels foolish and sad. Serena does not know how to read and write. Louis fees sad so his dad tries to help him like breaking and entering to get… well, you will just to read to find out.

I think this book is really fun and funny because you don’t read about a Trumpeter swan breaking and entering every day. This book is unique because it’s about how swans live and what they do. The book tells everyone to be determined and don’t be afraid to do something. When I read this book it made me wonder if swans really speak English when they speak to each other.

I recommend this story because it’s a meaningful and funny book. This story may interest you a lot because the author’s writing style. In the beginning of the book he writes about a boy named Sam and then goes into the swan’s story.
