The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

In the book, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Edward is loved by a girl named Abilene. One day Abilene boarded a ship. Some kids were playing with Edward, and they threw him into the ocean. He stayed in the ocean for many years, and then one day a fisherman named Lawrence took Edward to his wife, Nelly. One day their daughter, Lolly, went to their house for a visit. When Lolly saw Edward, she grabbed Edward by the leg and then dress Nelly made was over his head. Lolly did not like Edward because Nelly and Lawrence liked Edward more than Lolly. Lolly always shouts at them and they were scared of Lolly. Lolly told her parents that she was going to throw the trash away, but it was really Edward. Then he meets Bull and Lucy when Lucy took Edward out of a pile of trash. Lucy took Edward to Bull, and then Edward met Bull’s friends. They traveled together for a long time because Bull was a hobo. One night they road a train, and the person who drove the train kicked Edward off.

One of the feelings I had while reading this book was blue (sad). Some parts of the book made me cry, but some also made cry because they were so funny! Abilene reminded me of my little cousin because she had a doll that looked around everywhere. Abilene had a doll and she loved it, too, just like my cousin. When Edward was thrown off the ship, I was shocked! I thought that Edward was going to stay there forever!

I recommend this book to third graders and up because it is a good book about a bunny that travels a lot.
