Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo

This book was about a boy name Leven Thumps who was born in a hospital and his mother died while giving birth to him, so his aunt claimed him. One night, while sleeping on the small mat his aunt gave him, he saw a shadow that belonged to Sabine. Sabine was an evil sorcerer who ruled over Foo. Well, fortunately for Leven, the shadow disappeared. That same moment, his sycophant (which is a small creature who is assigned to a certain person or animal), named Clover, appeared to him and said, “I am your burn.” A burn was the term used by the Sycophants for the person they were assigned to. Later in the story, he met a girl named Winter. She had the power to freeze almost anything. After that, he and Winter got attacked by Sabine’s shadows and got swallowed by a snake made of dirt. They also met a talking toothpick named Geth. Their adventure is action packed but you will have to read the book to find out the rest of the adventure the four friends take.

My favorite part is when Leven obliterated Sabine with the bomb his grandma made. I like this part because I like explosions and the bomb goes BOOOOOOM! Also, I think that somewhat destroying the bad guy is a good thing, because everyone in the story wouldn’t have to look over their shoulders anymore. My favorite character is Geth because he has great leading skills. Also, he is a talking toothpick. Talking toothpicks are awesome! Another reason I like Geth is that he can take more pain than anyone can imagine, and he takes on more than a toothpick can handle.

I would recommend this book to all ages because it’s great in every single way possible because it has action, adventure, and excitement.
