California, 1849. The gold rush is on. Erika Nagy and her family just moved to California to pan for gold. They don't have any luck. So, without gold they can't pay the rent. My favorite part in the book was when Erika found the gold. It was my favorite part because she finds gold and she can pay the rent. This book is part of a series. I think it is like the other books because they all have the same characters that all share the same brand of caring and love for horses. As I read this book, I felt curious. I couldn't stop reading this book. I wanted to know more. Something unique about this book is that all the characters love horses.
