A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning

Fire! Fire! Quick our parents are still in there! This book is about three children, Violet, Klaus and Sunny, who lose their mother and father in a house fire. They have no grandparents, aunts or uncles nearby. So they have to go live with Count Olaf who is a very distant relative. Count Olaf treats them poorly and mean. He tries to kill them because he wants to steal their fortune. Will Count Olaf succeed?

I think this book is spectacular because it has tons of suspense and death-defying parts and you never know what is going to happen next. I am reading another book in the series right now. The books are alike in many ways. The same 3 children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, are in each of these books. In every book, Count Olaf wants to kill the children and take away their fortune. The story reminds me of my baby sister Celia. She is starting to get teeth and is biting everything just like Sunny. My favorite part of the book is when Count Olaf's plans backfire, and he narrowly escapes getting killed himself.

I recommend this book to people who like books with a lot of action and a scary storyline. This book is part of a series called The Series of Unfortunate Events. I think ages 9 - 11 would absolutely, positively love this book because it will take you mind on an adventure.
