Mr. Lincoln's Way

Mr. Lincoln’s Way is about a kind principal named Mr. Lincoln and a student named Eugene. Eugene is a school bully and is mean to all of the kids. One day he even steals a backpack from a little girl. This was enough for the other students and finally they had to tell on him. At first, Mr. Lincoln didn’t do anything; instead, he watched the boy because Eugene kept to himself. One day Mr. Lincoln saw Eugene by the atrium staring lovingly at the birds. The atrium was simple but pretty and a few birds flew around it. But Mr. Lincoln could tell Eugene loved birds. To figure out what Mr. Lincoln does to help Eugene, read Mr. Lincoln’s Way.

I loved this book because the book is relatable; you’re able to feel how the characters feel and your heart gets touched by each and every word. This book is written by heart and with just few pages you’ll be attached. The illustrations are beautiful - any book you read by Patricia Polacco are just beautiful. They are beautiful by pictures and words. If you ever read this book here’s what to look out for: The pictures, clues for how the problem is solved and the progress the story makes.

I would recommend this book for parents and teachers to read aloud to kids ages 4-9 and to read independently from ages 9 to 15. I really think readers no matter their ages would love the message in this book. Finally, this concludes my Mr. Lincoln’s Way book review. If you do read the book, I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. Thank you!
