Because of Winn-Dixie

A girl named India Opal Buloni went to the store to buy two tomatoes, white rice, and some macaroni and cheese, and she came home with...a DOG!!!!!! A big surprise for her dad!! Opal and Winn-Dixie become BFFs, but then, Winn-Dixie gets lost in a thunderstorm. Will Opal ever see Winn-dixie again?????? If you want to find out the answer to that question, you are just going to have to read the book.

Hi, I'm Mia. My favorite part in Because of Winn-Dixie is when Gloria Dump shows Opal the bottles on the tree. The bottles are on the the tree to remind Gloria of all the things she has done wrong, and to keep those ghosts away. This is my favorite part because it was shocking she drank all of that, because Gloria Dump is the last person you would think would drink beer and wine...and she doesn't anymore. Gloria Dump is the character I like because she is honest, and I like that in a person. I most connect to Opal because I would rescue a dog from a grocery store just like she did.

Hi, my name is Addison. My favorite part of Because of Winn-Dixie is when they were at the pet shop, and all of the animals are out and calm because Otis is playing the guitar for them. I like this part the best because all of the animals are out of their cages and calmly listening to the music, and then Winn-Dixie comes in and Gertrude, who is a bird, yells, “Dog!,” and the spell is broken, and all of the animals start running around. It gets chaotic, and it is funny. Opal is my favorite character because she loves animals. I love animals. I am most like Miss Franny Block, because Miss.Franny Block and I both really love to read. I would read any book and she would too.

We recommend this book to our friend Miley (and whoever else loves animals) because Miley loves animals. This book is about some awesome animals. The age level we would recommend this book to is kindergarten to adult because all people would like it.
