Because of Winn Dixie

Opal was sent to the store to get some stuff, but instead, she came back with a dog. She named the dog Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie and Opal meet lots of new friends. Opal loses Winn-Dixie at a party because of a thunder storm. Will Opal find Winn-Dixie? If you want to find out the answer to that question, read the book.

My favorite part of Because of Winn-Dixie was when Winn-Dixie ate the peanut butter. This was my favorite part because when Gloria dump said you can always trust a dog that likes peanut butter, it was funny. The character in this book that was my favorite was Gloria Dump, because she has a giant yard and likes peanut butter like me. The character that I made a connection with in Because of Winn-Dixie was Winn-Dixie. The reason that I made a connection to him was because my dog is afraid of thunderstorms like Winn-Dixie, but in stead of running away, my dog whimpers.

I recommend this book to 2nd graders, because this story is about a dog, and 2nd graders like dogs a lot.
