Amber Brown is Not a Crayon

Justin Daniels and Amber Brown make a funny combo. For example, they made a chewing gum ball with thier used gum. Ha,ha!! But, when Justin is going to move, Amber is very sad. Who's going to help her with fractions? The most important question is "Who can be Amber's best friend when Justin is gone?" Brandi Colwin and Marc Manchester are maybes, but still, nobody could replace Justin. And when Amber wants to talk to Justin about moving, he just avoids the question by saying "I don't want to talk about it!" Finally, Amber gets fed up with Justin, and the two best friends didn't talk to each other for a long time. But no two friends can stay mad at each other for long!

My favorite part of this book is when Justin sees the sold sticker on the sign in front of his house. Lots of people probably disagree with this, but really this was the beginning of the main idea. Without this part, there would be no story. If you take out this part, what's there to have a book about? Air?!I thought this book was a fun story to read. Amber Brown is a part of a series and I look forward to reading all of them.

I recommend this book to kids who are sad about their friend moving away. That kid could probably relate his/her feelings to Amber Brown, especially if the friend that's moving is a best friend.
