Arthur's Reading Race

This book is about how Arthur and his sister D.W. have a reading race. Arthur does not think his sister can read and wants to teach her how. D.W. says she can. So to show Arthur that she does know how to read they have a reading race. If she can read 10 words then Arthur will buy her ice cream. Can she read ten words, you have to read the book to find out!

I like this book because D. W. is a lot like me. People think we can't do some things, but we can. I also like this book because Arthur is like my big brother Peter. He thinks he knows everything just like Arthur. I like to show him that he does not know everything.

My favorite part of the book is when Arthur sits in wet paint. I think it is very funny and I wish my brother would sit in wet paint too.

I recommend this book because it is funny how a sister and brother race with each other. This book also shows different ways you can read not just from a book. This book is great for first graders that like to read books about Arthur and D.W.
