My book is about a boy who lives way up in the Ozark's. At the beginning of the book, an adult named Billy finds a dog. The dog made him remember when he was a boy. In the second chapter Billy really wants a hunting dog, especially a coon dog. While he was playing he saw the fisherman leave and to across the stream. So Billy went over to look to see if they had left anything. They did and it was the key to unleashing Billy's puppy love. To find out what happens next all you have to do is READ THE BOOK!

I have a great devotion for this book! This book makes you feel just like Billy feels. Why do I love it? It is because I feel exactly what Billy feels. You can picture the scene just like you were watching the movie. This is one of the greatest, realistic, breath-taking, sensational books on this Earth. My favorite part was when Billy and his family are moving into town and they see the red fern through the flinty hills. This is like no other book I have ever read. I will always remember the very last sentence, "Yes I know it is still there, for in my heart I believe the legend of the scarce red fern."

I recommend this book for kid's ages 9-13 who like exciting, breath-taking, and exciting books. I recommend this book because I could not put it down. There are tons of wonderful plots. The more you read the better the plot and the story gets. Billy's dogs, Little Ann, and Old Dan rescue him from loneliness, death, despair, and failure. To know why and how they rescued him, you will have to READ THE BOOK!
