A Chair for My Mother

Vera B. Williams tells a story about a girl and her mother and her grandmother. They fill up a jar with coins so they can buy the most beautiful, cozy, soft arm chair in the world. They want to get the chair because there was a fire in their old house and there was nothing left. The cozy chair is also a place for her mother to relax in after a hard day at work.

A Chair for My Mother gave me a feeling that I lived next to the girl's house. Vera B. Williams makes it like you were walking right next to the girl. It makes me remember when my brother tried to fill a jar to buy a tricycle. It didn't work out. Vera B. Williams wrote Something Special for Me and Music, Music Everywhere. Something Special for Me is part two of A Chair for My Mother. You have to, if you can, read the books Something Special for Me and A Chair for My Mother!

I think that this book is good for kids that really want something very badly. I also recommend this book to kids who like being close to their families.
