In my opinion, Adventure According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney is an exciting book that will keep you at the edge of your seat, wanting to know what happens next. First, Humphrey the main character is kind. For example, Humphrey helps Gail decide what to do for her boat. Gail’s mom is a helper in Room 26, and they disagree about what to do for the boat. Humphrey gets out of his cage and gives an idea on her working space. Next, this book has a lot of adventures! Humphrey snuck onto Kirk and Richie’s boat and almost drowned in Potter’s Pond! Lastly, Humphrey is fearless. He sneaks into the library and risks getting caught in the hallway just to make Richie’s remote not work so the race will be fair. For all those reasons, Adventure According to Humphrey will make you see the world from a different point of view.
