Old Yeller

This book is awesome! It is about a boy named Travis. His dad was away on a long cattle drive to Abilene. Travis saw a stay dog and it came and stole their meat to eat it. They kept the dog because Travis' little brother, Arliss wanted it. They called him Old Yeller, he was ugly, but Old Yeller liked Travis and saved little Arliss and a couple of other people. Old Yeller got hurt trying to protect Travis' family and Travis tried to save him but he got hurt from the hogs. Read this book to find out what happens next.

I like this book. It was fun to read because it made you want to read more and more, like the time when the bear almost killed little Arliss. This book teaches you a lesson. The lesson is that you shouldn't judge things by the way they look. I like this book because I don't have any pets and this gave me an idea of what it would be like to have a dog.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs because this book is all about a dog and his owner Travis. Almost anyone could read this book because it is easy to read and is fun to read. Also I recommend this book to kids about 10 years because it is funny and interesting.
