This is a book about a girl named Opal who goes to the store for macaroni and cheese, two tomatoes, and rice, but instead...she came back with a dog. Read the book to find out what happens next.

Hi, I'm Malia. My favorite part of Because of Winn-Dixie was when Winn-Dixie ran into Gloria Dump's yard. When Opal got over the fence into Gloria's yard, she saw Gloria Dump was feeding Winn-Dixie peanut butter. This was my favorite part because Winn-Dixie ate peanut butter off a spoon. If Winn-Dixie ate off a spoon my mom just cleaned, she would flip out, but Gloria just laughed. The character in this book that was my favorite was Opal because she likes dogs like my sister and me. The character in this book that I made a connection with was Opal . The reason that I made a connection to her was because her mom left her dad, and left Opal with him. My Mom left my Dad, and she took me and my sister with her.

Hi, I'm Caleb. My favorite part of Because of Winn-Dixie was the party. This was my favorite part because Sweetie Pie brought dog pictures to decorate. It was so so so so so so so so so funny! She is obsessed with dogs! The character in this book that was my favorite was Winn-Dixie because he ate peanut butter, smiled a lot, and would smile so big he sneezed! It was so so so so funny! The character that I made a connection with in Because of Winn-Dixie was Gloria Dump. The reason that I made a connection to her was because I know someone who drinks booze like Gloria Dump did. The difference is he will not stop drinking booze, and he doesn't have a booze tree in his backyard to remind him not to do that anymore.

I (Caleb) recommend this book to my Dad because he had a dog that was kind of like Winn-Dixie. My Dad's dog name was Toby. I think he would like to read this book.

I (Malia) recommend this book to my dad and my step-mom because they like dogs and I think they would like to read it.
