Because of Winn-Dixie

"Hi, my name is Opal, and my Dad sent me to go buy some tomatoes, macaroni and cheese, and white rice at the WINN-DIXIE GROCERY STORE, but instead, I brought back a dog!!! It is a long story, but I can tell you this dog is special, because he helps me get new friends in my new town, and even a job. All I can tell you is that this book is going to be emotional and awesome. If you want to find out more read this book.”

Hi, I'm Landon. My favorite part is when Opal went to the grocery store and came out with a dog! That was my favorite part because Opal claimed the dog as hers so that the dog wouldn't go to the pound. Opal's idea of claiming Winn-Dixie as hers was very clever. My favorite character is Winn-Dixie because Winn-Dixie is very funny. It was funny when Otis let all of the animals out of their cages, and Winn-Dixie was chasing them around the pet store. I made a connection with Opal because Opal could get kind of feisty, and I do too, when someone fools me, or tries to trick me.

I recommend this book to my family because this book has a girl named Opal, and she finds a dog in the grocery store, and she names him Winn-Dixie. It's a book that people will love because Winn-Dixie helps Opal make new friends. Then Opal has a party, and Winn-Dixie gets lost. To find out more, read the book.
