Abby Carnelia's One and Only Magical Power

“Whirl! Whirl!” Come join Abby and her friends in Abby Carnelia’s One and Only Magical Power by David Pogue.

To start off, Abby and her family were ordinary. Then one day, Abby was chopping up hard-boiled eggs when her mother came over and told her one of her earrings was missing. She reached up and tugged on her earlobes. Amazingly, the egg in front of her began to spin. So Abby went to Magic Camp to learn about her power. When she got to camp, she and some other people went to a Super Camp, a place for people who had powers like Abby. There was a very important lesson in this story to be learned. It was that all kids are special in their own way.

My favorite part in this book is when Ben starts singing “U R 2 Good 4 Me” while holding some paper. Abby sees the paper Ben’s holding turn gray, and yelps. It’s funny because Ben doesn’t even notice the paper turning gray! I think this book was so amazing! I loved it! It was good because it had lots of surprises! I think Eliza changed. In the beginning, Eliza didn’t seem very friendly. At the end, she was very friendly.

In conclusion, I recommend this book because it has amazing surprises, humor, and action. I think children eight and up should read this book. Anyone who loves to read books with action, magic, amazing surprises, and humor should read this book.
