It's about a girl named Ruby. Her grandmother, Miss Eula, went on vacation so Ruby and Miss Eula sent a LOT of letters to each other and told how much that they missed each other. Ruby told Miss Eula all about how Melba Jane killed the chicks.
My favorite part was when Melba and Ruby became friends. I thought it was a good book because Ruby saved the hens. Yes--I liked this book because Ruby, Miss Eula, and Dove were nice.
I reccomend this book to kids.
