The 39 Clues The Maze of Bones

Have you ever been so frightened someone might seriously injure you? Dan and Amy Cahill have; and it’s their family that’s trying to hurt them. Dan and Amy live with their Aunt Beatrice in Boston. Their parents died when Amy was four and Dan was one. Aunt Beatrice will do anything to keep them safe. Dan and Amy find this annoying. The only person they have fun with is their grandmother, Grace. She treats them like adults, she always travels with them, and best of all she tells them everything. When Grace dies Dan and Amy receive the unexpected. The funeral is no ordinary funeral. Over a hundred relatives show up. Even famous Jonah Wizard shows up! Later on in the funeral, Grace’s lawyer Mr. McIntyre gives them challenging choices, walk away with a million dollars in their pocket, or battle the 39 clues for world power. The tricky thing is, the clues are all over the world, and, there are 39 of them! Dan says: “C’mon Amy!” about fifty times. Amy finally agrees. They have the worst start. Grace’s mansion is burned down by their athletic, but mentally deranged relatives, the Holts, and their partner, Alistair Oh, abandons them. They think it is hopeless. They travel back in a police car to their au-pair Nellie Gomez's house. All together they travel to Paris in search of the first clue. Will they survive and find the clue? Or die trying? Read the book to find out!

This is the first book of the series. I like this book because it’s a curious mystery, like my personality. Make sure you have a lot of time to read this book because you will not be able to put it down, it has tons of cliff hangers that need to be answered. This book has interesting words like splendid and zappy, and hilarious dialogue that will make you roll around on the floor with laughter.

I recommend this book to people ages 9 and up who like juicy mysteries, and I recommend this book to…the Cahills.
