The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

This book is not like any other book I’ve read…it’s great! Edward Tulane is a china rabbit who is beautiful, but also snobby, mean, and selfish. Then, something happens that changes his life. He is separated from his loving owner, Abilene Tulane.

A big idea in this book that I noticed is loss. While Edward is on his journey, he loses his loved ones. My opinion is that this book is different because it’s so happy and sad at the same time. Edward changed at the end because he was learned to love people instead of just himself. This book is not a series, but I wish it was so I could find out what happens to Edward next. This book is a fantasy book.

I recommend this book to 3rd grade readers and up. They will love it just as much as I did! Some things that might interest the readers are the themes of love, loss, and longing because those three themes are the best part of the book!
